STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Staten Island Yankees snapped a five-game losing streak in style last night, taking advantage of five errors in a 10-0 New York-Penn League victory over the host State College Spikes.
Eduardo Sosa fell a home run short of the cycle, driving in three runs on three hits, and the pitching tandem of Kramer Sneed and Mike Gipson combined to throw a one-hitter with 10 total strikeouts.
The victory placed the Baby Bombers (21-21) in a three-way tie for second place in the McNamara Division with the Aberdeen IronBirds (23-23) and the Hudson Valley Renegades (22-22) and kept them eight games back of the Brooklyn Cyclones (31-15).
