For the second straight night, the State College Spikes faced an early six-run deficit.
But whereas the Spikes mustered a comeback Sunday, they could not climb out of the early hole Monday night.
Behind six runs in the first two innings and a stellar pitching performance, the Jamestown Jammers beat the Spikes 11-3 at Russell Diethrick Park in Jamestown, N.Y.
“They came out swinging the bat well, scored three in the first and then three in the second,” Spikes designated hitter Chase Lyles said. “That six-run lead is pretty tough to come back from.”
