AUBURN, NY – The State College Spikes used a seven-run second inning to power another tremendous offensive effort, completing a six-game road trip with a 14-5 win over the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park on Monday night.
Coming into the second inning with a 2-0 lead, State College (16-15) scored all sevent runs in the second with two outs, starting with a pair of runs off of an infield error. Adalberto Santos then tripled home another two runs, and Matt Curry followed with an RBI single. Chase Lyles then put a cap on the damage with his fourth home run of the year, a two-run blast to left field to give the Spikes a 9-0 edge.
