NORWICH, Conn. — One night after erupting for 11 runs and 13 hits against the Connecticut Tigers, the State College Spikes’ bats fell silent.
Clemente Mendoza shut the Spikes down, surrendering just two hits during an eight-inning pitching performance in a 5-0 victory Thursday night at Dodd Stadium.
The Spikes were held to three hits for the game, their fewest in a game this season since collecting just two in a loss to Jamestown on June 30.
