UNIVERSITY PARK — The way Jhonathan Ramos pitched Monday during the sixth inning showed how the Hudson Valley Renegades forced the State College Spikes into playing their longest New York- Penn League game of 2010.
Before a pitch during a bases-loaded at-bat, Ramos stepped behind the mound, dropped his hat, wiped sweat from his forehead and eyebrows, picked up his hat, stepped on the mound, took a sign, raised his glove and threw to Nick Schwaner.
The deliberate approach neither slowed nor cooled Hudson Valley.
The Renegades used a six-run, 12-batter sixth inning to defeat the Spikes 12-7 in a 3-hour, 27-minute game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park
