UNIVERSITY PARK — State College Spikes second baseman Walker Gourley slammed his bat, thinking he made the final out of the ninth inning.
Considering the first 8 2/ 3 innings, something predictable happened on Gourley’s way to first base. Somebody botched another play.
This time, it was Williamsport Crosscutters first baseman Jeff Cusick who lifted his body upward without the ball in his glove. The error, which allowed Kyle Saukko to score, was the last of multiple blunders during the Spikes’ 5-4 victory Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
