Walks, wild pitches and Jamestown errors aid Spikes bats in victory
JAMESTOWN, NY – The State College Spikes took advantage of walks and errors early and late, adding enough firepower to roll to a 9-1 win over the Jamestown Jammers on Tuesday night at Russell Diethrick Park.
State College (33-31) jumped out to a 5-1 lead through four innings, and added to it with help from two Jamestown (26-38) errors and nine walks issued by Jammers pitching. The nine free passes were the most allowed by a Spikes opponent all season.
