No hits until the seventh for Spikes in Irwin’s first pro loss
STATE COLLEGE, PA-Aberdeen IronBirds starter Nick Haughian held the State College Spikes without a hit until the seventh inning, and the IronBirds used a late push to put away a 7-3 win over the Spikes at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Wednesday night.
Haughian (4-2) allowed just three walks to State College (23-24) in the first six innings of the game before Justin Byler led off the seventh inning with a single up the middle. The Aberdeen (21-26) lefty also struck out four in 6 2/3 innings of work to pick up the win.
