UNIVERSITY PARK — Brock Holt made solid contact, lofting a Stephen Procner pitch over Aberdeen center fielder’s Steve Bumbry’s head.
Holt sprinted into second base safely and later scored.
One major problem existed: Holt’s eighth-inning double was too late on a night when the State College Spikes needed a big hit earlier.
The Spikes’ offensive woes continued Wednesday as they had four hits and didn’t score until the eighth in a 7-3 loss to Aberdeen before 3,305 spectators, including Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington
