JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The State College Spikes’ stay at the .500 mark was a brief one.
The Spikes defeated Jamestown 3-2 in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday before the Jammers countered with 9-4 victory in the nightcap.
State College’s win in the opener was its third in a row and seventh in its last nine games. It also put the Spikes at 20-20, the first time they reached the .500 mark since they embarked on a seven-game losing streak in the middle of this month.
