The Pittsburgh Pirates today signed left-handed pitcher Nathan Baker, the club’s fifth-round selection in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

Baker went 4-3 with one save and a 3.63 ERA in 20 appearances (seven starts) for the University of Mississippi this past year as a junior.
