this past homestand, the Spikes (13-11), who have won their past four series, should enjoy the bus rides. They went 4-2 against Pinckney Division foes Batavia and Jamestown despite hitting .197 and scoring 18 total runs.
Morgan’s left-handed swing was responsible for a third of those runs.
Morgan drove in a team-record six runs Sunday, including four on his second-inning slam off Jammer starter Josh Roberts. Four innings later, Morgan hit a two-run homer off Wilson Matos.
The homers looked nothing alike. Morgan sent a first-pitch fastball into the green portion of the center-field batter’s eye to hit the third grand slam in team history. He connected on a curveball and dumped a ball into the right-field bleachers in the sixth.
