STATE COLLEGE, PA – The State College Spikes’ bats were hushed by Auburn Doubledays pitching Wednesday night in a 5-1 defeat at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

Auburn (5-7) starter Scott Gracey (1-2) retired 12 straight Spikes batters at one point en route to earning the win. Gracey allowed one run on four hits while striking out seven batters. Josh Wells (1) then finished the game with three scoreless innings, allowing two hits over that span and earning the save.
