You Are Here: Home » Featured, Stats » New site feature – a statistical section

If you pay close attention to the site you may have noticed a new addition within the last 48 hours or so. I’ve created a new section called “Stats”. A link to the section appears in the blue navigation bar at the top of every page in the website.  When you click on it, you’ll be presented with a simple page that looks like this (at least at the moment – I will be expanding on it in the future):

In the Team Stats section, you’ll get to see how the Spikes stack up with the other teams in the New York Penn League.  The various charts will be presented in a format that looks like this:

In the Individual Stats section, you see how the Spike players rank among themselves.   The charts will be similar to the team ones but you’ll see only the Spikes players listed.  Here’s an example:

The Statistical Charts section will give you a graphical representation of some of the data that you see in previous charts.  Being able to visualize the data often makes exceptional performances stand out.  Here’s a sample – notice how Calvin Anderson’s hits just jump out at you.

The data will be dynamically updated so you can expect the numbers to be timely. I will also be adding additional data to the charts (some sabermetric stuff for you stat geeks), creating more graphs of the chart data, and adding new sections like League Leaders.

I hope you find this section worthwhile.
